Our Commitment to Privacy

At LitReview, we believe your research activity is private. We have designed our application to respect your privacy completely. This privacy policy explains the one piece of personal information we collect, your email address, and how the application keeps everything else on your device.

Your Email Address

LitReview is free. To download it, you give us your email address, and we email you the download links and your license key. LitReview is built by Elton University, and your email is collected and stored by Elton University. When you sign up, we record:

• Your email address
• The date you signed up, your IP address, and your browser type, to prevent abuse
• Whether and when you clicked the download links, and for which platform

We use your email to send your download links, to tell you about LitReview updates, and occasionally to tell you about Elton University's programs. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. We do not sell your email address. Emails are sent through Mailgun, our email delivery provider.

What the Application Does Not Collect

Apart from the email you give us to download it, LitReview collects nothing about you. Specifically:

• No personal information: The application doesn't collect your name, email, or any identifying information
• No search history: Your searches are not logged, tracked, or stored on our servers
• No usage analytics: We don't track how you use the application
• No tracking cookies: Our website and application do not use tracking cookies
• No behavioral data: We don't monitor or collect information about your behavior

How the Application Works

LitReview is a desktop application that runs entirely on your local device. When you search for academic papers:

• Searches are sent directly from your computer to Google Scholar
• Results are processed locally on your device
• All data, including search history and saved searches, is stored only on your computer
• No information passes through our servers

Third-Party Services

LitReview uses Google Scholar to retrieve search results. When you use the application:

• Your searches are sent directly to Google Scholar from your device
• Google may collect information according to their privacy policy
• We recommend reviewing Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy

Data Storage

All application data is stored locally on your device, including:

• Search history
• Saved searches and folders
• Application preferences

You have complete control over this data and can delete it at any time by removing the application from your device.

Children's Privacy

LitReview does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The application is designed for academic research purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If you've given us your email, we may notify you of significant changes.

Your Rights

You can ask us at any time to send you a copy of, correct, or delete the email record we hold about you by writing to hello@elton.university. Your search history and saved searches stay on your device, under your control.
